Happy 2026. For those of us 50-plus, well, we likely won't make it to midnight, so it's time to post a new thread to start the new year. Will this year zoom by as fast as 2025 did? I guess we'll find out soon enough. As I've probably said before, January 1 marks the first page of a 365 page book you get to write, so make it a good one.
Happy New Year, Gang! Hit the sack at 3:30 this morning. The wife even made it to midnight! We hosted some of the kids' friends. Considering the weather and roads last night, we made the right call.
First day of the year - and Arlene's birthday - involved me making breakfast, getting my workout in while she baked some bread and some individual size cakes, me cleaning up the snow outside. Couple more days off til we both go back to work and get the professional year started.

Yeah, good call. We ended up with about 4" of snow and it was kinda slick under it. There were 2 vehicles parked along the street that didn't make it up the hills involved, so it was obvious that they stayed put for some portion of the night as they were snow covered.

Surprisingly enough, we made it to midnight. We were watching baking shows - I know, we need to slow down hahaha.
Happy New Year PA. We started the party early, that meant we sacked out before midnight. Woke up long enough to watch the clock hit 12:00, then to bed. It’s been cold down in VA, but we still manage to find things to do outside by the lake. Well clean up and head back tomorrow.
