98 Ford Expedition - shift lever won't come out of Park
I have disconnected the shift link cable from the arm at the transmission as well as at the end of the shift tube, near the rear of the steering column. I have also pulled the shift lock actuator out of the way to make sure it wasn't blocking the shift lever. Now I'm out of ideas as to what is stopping the lever from cycling through all the gears. The lever has a little left and right play right now like it's almost going to hit reverse but then it hits a wall.
This project started out with simply replacing a couple solenoids in the transmission. why I'm tearing apart my steering column just trying to put things back together is beyond me. I could attach pictures or video if that would help anybody see what I'm seeing.
