Haven't heard of any significant lifter issues in the 2023+ trucks, but I'm sure if someone got a lemon, they'll chime in shortly. There's a service bulletin for a software update that affects the oil pump control solenoid (or whatever it's called). You might want to search for info on that, to make sure your truck was built after the update was made, or take it in to have it done. I've had my F-350 7.3 for a week now, already 900 miles on it, and it's been amazing so far. I'm coming from a 98.5 Ram 2500 Cummins.
One of the couples we RV with traded their Duramax in on 2023 7.3 and they have had no problems and really like the truck but it's a trimmed out Lariat so what's not to like.
Don't have a lot to add, I've been very happy with my 24 7.3 gas super duty. Have done some towing in mountains and it's a beast. For my use diesel didn't make sense.
Where are the posts with 2023 lifter failures? I thought I had seen one on this site, but I cannot find any now. I heard Ford identified and fixed the lifter issue in model year 2023. Ford gave internal training for model year 2023 and stated the issue had been corrected, but this latest CSP to reflash the PCM in order to raise idle oil pressure has me wondering…
Ford did fix the bug with the instrument cluster that would not remember the last screen you were on, but introduced another bug that removes the measurement screen when you customize your instrument cluster for towing and you are using Apple Maps to navigate. I understand it does this when using the built-in navigation as well.

Smooth sailing so far with our three 2024 7.3L trucks. I too hope the lifter issue is all cleared up as our 2021 7.3L didnt make it past 30k before engine failure hence why we waited a few more years before purchasing more trucks.

Two people on Facebook said they had mutable 2023s with lifter failures. One was a Ford tech who said his dealership had warrantied a bunch of 7.3 lifter failures that were fleet trucks. He said they were early 23s. Then another fleet mechanic said the same thing about the company he worked for. He said just about their whole fleet were early 23 7.3s and they had multiple lifter failures. It was the first I had heard of any 23 failures, but they both seemed credible.
Thanks for sharing that. This is the only issue with the ‘23+ 7.3L that I am aware of. If Ford could figure this out, the engine appears to be a good one. I like my ‘23. Hopefully the oil idle pressure CSP really does fix this once and for all, but I am going to remain skeptical, given how long this issue has been going on.

Yeah, we are heading into the 6th model year (2025) on this engine. I'm just crossing my fingers and try to put a little throttle periodically when I am idling hoping to avoid any issues for as long as I can, since I have a 22 which is before the changes were put in. My transmission also falls before the the CDF drum change so it's gonna be what it's gonna be. LOL

What 7.3 changes are you referring to, the 2023 7.3 changes or something else?
