I have a 97 PSD F250. I noticed a few small red fluid drips on the garage floor. I looked under the trans and it looks dry. Seems to be from the front if the engine. Could it be a leaking transmission line or possibly the power steering lines? Don't think the power steering is a red fluid though. Looks like tranny fluid. Any common areas to look over at “up front”?

Either one. The power steering system uses Type F ATF. Clean it off to see where it is leaking.
Assuming auto trans, follow the two lines (rh side of trans) from the trans up to the cooler (lh side of radiator - could have an after market cooler installed in front of the rad too), could be a trans line leaking.
Power steering lines, pump, or steering gear box could be leaking too.
Pull back the steering lower shaft plastic boot from the line retainer and check the input of the steering gear for the leak
Yes, the power steering fluid is type F trans fluid on those older ones (red)
I replaced hundreds of those gear input seals with the gear still in the trucks and made some good dough
It paid 3.7 hours to remove the gear and replace the seals
You can do it in 40 minutes if you hold your mouth just right while fighting the snap ring with some good pliers
