2010 FORD ESCAPE HYBRID XLS Sport Utility: Heater does what it's designed to do while the vehicle is moving, but come to a stop light the heat goes away.
Don't appreciate that, and don't even like it.
Why does that happen? Every other vehicle I've ever driven has had no such limitation -- as long as the motor was running, even when at a standstill, the heater was my friend.
welcome to this site
as to your issue, it being a 2010 i would be looking at a partly plug'ed heater core not allowing enough coolant though at lower engine speeds . even a failing water pump. slipping vanes on the shaft . not to knock you, but at 14 years old ,that's a old car, many things can go wrong
Is it a matter of the airflow ebbs and flows when stopping vs moving or is the airflow consistent but the temperature of the outlet air varies between hot and cold?
