Airbag restraint orange dash light and needed repair. 2009 XLT V6

I took apart and cleaned the plugs under both seats. After 1 cleaning on driver's side the light turned off. Then I put the plug back on the mounting and the light came on again and won't turn off. I think I need a new part. Anyone know about the fix?

You need to use a scanner to pull the fault codes. Otherwise, you're just guessing as to whatever might be faulty.

I'll just offer that our new '02 had the same fault right after we picked it up. And again at about 500 miles.. and again at almost exactly 3 years ownership. Every time it was the connection you cleaned. Sometimes I could unplug/replug it and the fault would go away for maybe a week. I was tempted to cut and solder the connections when it popped up again shortly before we ended up trading it for the '12 we know own.
Hopefully your issue is easily resolved.
