Hello, I’ve got a problem that has lead me to the endless wisdom and experience of these forums lol. First time posting here. So I have a friend who’s been blowing off fixing his brakes. So, here are the details. 1974 F250 factory AWD C6 Auto truck converted to a top loader 4 speed, cool truck, right? It has 4 wheel drum brakes and they don’t work. It doesn’t leak fluid and the truck has had 3 O’reilly’s reman master cylinders on it. They always solve the issue for about a month before it comes back again. Pedal hits the floor and eventually you can pump the pedal enough with the engine off until it’ll builds pressure and it’ll kinda work. Not a ton of money to spend, so I’m curious who knows of a QUALITY replacement part that’s not too fancy, thanks. Not looking for any aftermarket fancy bits.
Welcome to FTE.
Dose O offer a new master over the reman?
Might do new over the reman. If they don't might try a different parts store or even Rock Auto for a new one.
Bench bleeding it before you install it and adjust the brakes also before bleeding.

there is about 22 different brake pedal and and master cylinder combinations when you changed the 2 pedal for a 3 pedal you changed the geometry of the brake assembly's , go back to where ever you got the 3 pedals from and grab the brake booster and the bracket that mounts to the firewall. and try that.
in other words if your truck is a 74 and you put the pedals from a 78 now you need a booster for a 78. then if you have single or double piston calipers that makes a difference also. you need to figure all that out!
