"Hello!" or "This is what I want!"
That F100 is the first vehicle I ever drove and how I learned to shift. This was my dad's F100 custom cab. He bought it in about 1970. He chose an F100 because he FLEW the F100 (and F86, F84F, T33, P80, and T28) It had 3 on the column and I think the bigger straight 6. The previous owner had a camper on it so I am pretty sure helper springs and large mirrors were factory.
That picture is soon after we had it painted by Earl Scheib. I think we paid $39.95 because it was a two tone paint job. He traded it in on a 1976 F100 (or F150?) just before I went in the Army. During my calls home he used to tell me he saw here or there in town before it finally disappeared.
I want to buy a similar 1966 and I plan on that being my daily driver. (I have an non-decript SUV as a backup).
A couple of questions though. I remember once a nylon piece that held the horn ring had one of the ears break off, and I had to hold the horn ring straight with one hand as I drove to the dealer so the horn wouldn't blare. They had the replacement in stock (for $2 or something) and a friendly mechanic showed me how to push in and twist out the horn ring and loaned me his screwdriver? to swap it out. How do we handle those things now?
Thanks in advance!
Mike
I'm biased but you can't go wrong with a 66 F100.

Now days, it will be a minimum of two hours labor to diagnose ( “We can schedule you for next month”) We’ll order parts , then replace. Parts should be about one-fifty, figure an hour of labor at 125.00 per hour for our technician to install. THAT’s how we handle it now.
Nice photo . Cheers, welcome, and good luck.
I recently paid a Ford dealer $300 labor to replace my daughters horn (Ford Escape). I never guessed it would be that much or I would have taken an hour or so and done it myself.
I have an indoor place to park the truck in the worst of winter (probably won't drive it in salt). I will also park it in the garage at the house in the summer. But too many cars at the house now with the Covid thing going on. That may hold me up. I do plan to look at one this weekend though.

I'll betcha it's more than 2 bucks in today's money!
"I'm Earl Scheib, I'll paint any car any color for only $29.95." Sometimes, 'ol Earl had sales, I recall in the '60's that the price dropped to $19.95!

just doing a horn button piece as I type.
if you needed one and stopped by today parts n labor would cost you $5.00 total. Do it yourself under 3.00
my ring was original yet 54 yrs old but possible it’s been broke for 29 yrs as that’s how long truck sat. Broken when I bought it 3 weeks ago.
good quality paint and supplies can and will cost 5000.00 to do complete these days.
just a single 6” sand paper 600-800 is 1.49 each. And that’s the cheap brand!
