I'm ready to order a disc brake conversion kit for my '62 and there are enough out there to confuse me. I want a complete kit that includes everything to get the job done in one box
and uses the stock brake pedal linkage.. Would like power brakes but the stock master cylinder is right in line with the Weber carb and there is only 12" from the firewall to the air cleaner. Cost is always a concern to me but we're talking brakes this is one time that I'm not trying to squeeze the nickel till the indian is riding the buffalo. Open to any and all suggestions
I bought the kit from Speedway Motors. Everything was there, but it needed a little bit of fabrication. Had to grind off some nubs at the top of the calipers. Simple stuff. It uses GM pads. I've had it for about a year now and the truck stops fantastic. Only did the front. The price was really affordable and it fit my stock steel wheels. When you go to their website you can read all the comments about the kit. I think I left one as well. My truck is a 64.

What master cylinder and proportioning valve did you use?
Dual 1" bore master cylinder. Also from Speedway. Part number 910 - 31445. I remember it came in a kit and the power booster did not work so I returned the power booster. The kit number is 910 - 31413. I picked up a power booster that worked well from NPD. Proportioning valve from Speedway. Part number 910 - 31353. I had to fit a riser to the air cleaner because the master cylinder stuck out a bit. the NPD power booster number is f - 2005 - 9A.
The only other issue I had was I had to get the rod that that connected the booster to the brake pedal cut down and re-welded. Everything else was simple and straightforward.
I used 1972 firewall brackets, a 54-73515 brake booster, a 1975 F100 disc/drum master, 1975 F100 combo valve. It was a direct bolt-in using the rod from my old jar type master.
