What Models & Years Match 1967 F250 Bed Size?

I'm looking for a camper shell (topper, campershell, truck cap) for a 1967 F-250 long bed, style side. I understand it is 100" long and 73" wide and completely square inside. I'm also wanting to get a bed liner that fits.

My question is what other trucks and what years would have these same dimensions?

I've come across camper shells for Dodge, Chevy, and Ford but not sure what years these beds were all the same. Trying to figure out what to look for on craigslist or when I call a dealer. I went to a 4X4 Truck Accessory shop and they said they couldn't get anything for a 1967 Ford F250, but I'm thinking I probably have more options.

Does anyone know the year ranges and models for each of these?

100" X 73" 8' Long Bed
Ford Style Side F150 & F250 - 1967 ? to 1996 ?
Dodge ???? to 1992 ?
Chevy ???? to 1986 ?

If anyone has a nice classic camper shell that would match a 1967 Ford F250, I'm definitely interested.

Thanks.

I've heard that 90s Chevy toppers will fit. I cannot confirm or deny that. Try to test fit before you buy.

The older shells with sliding windows are almost not worth the effort. I have one on my '64 and they leak horribly and would not be cheap or easy to repair. Mine are siliconed shut. I would love to find an older style with crank windows.

Ok, just found a camper shell on Craigslist that looks good. Might not be from 1967 but certainly fits the style. It was on a 78 Ford Truck and by my best estimates this is exactly the same bed size. And no sliding windows.

Any one recognize what this one is?

Do not get that one as it will only fit a Dent or newer model as it hugs the slanted rear of the Dent cab. Bumps have straight cabs. Those aluminum shells are basically generic as a lot of companies made them. They pretty much look alike. I had one for my 72 that my dad later put on his 77 in 1987, and then put on his 94.

They are a generic design as their were a hundreds of companies making them. My dad bought one like that in 1977 straight from a small trailer manufacturer in Eagle, Idaho.

Oh, yes, have to consider the angle of the cab. Darn, I liked that shell. Not just the bed size.

1973 to 1979 has a more angled cab. Then it changes again from 1980 to 1997 to less of an angle. So does the 1980 to 1997 angle match the 1967 to 1972 cabs?

Also read that the inner beds the were the same from 1973 to 1996. How is the inner bed different from 1967 to 1972?

Here's a nice one for the dent side. Would love to find this for the bump side.

GemTop used to be in Caldwell idaho, would build custom shells to fit given trucks. They used to be in Caldwell, Idaho. I’m not sure they’re still there.

Funny, I've been seeing a few of these around. I might go down there and try to catch someone on the street that used to work there. That would be a cool shell to find.

The Aluminum Caps, were 1-inch square metal tubing bent into the hoops, and welded to a 1X2 perimeter frame around the bed top. Then the aluminum skin was pop-riveted on.

It would be pretty straight forward to make one up, The only special tool you might need is a tubing bender which would work with the square tubing. And, in a pinch you could build a plywood jig, and bend the hoops manually.

Most of teh specialized. Bits you might need are available on eBay, and Amazon, for the teardrop trailer builds.

That's a great idea. Seems pretty easy to make. Would match the curve I want. I could angle it however much made sense. Paint the aluminum the color I want, or leave it. And maybe even put a couple windows in. Finding the rear hatch and hardward might be doable from another shell or even repair parts.
