I've got a 2015 F450 work truck. It's got the base model radio. For the last year or so, the radio will seemingly randomly stop working when you start the truck. It will come on like normal when we start it in the morning, putter around the shop etc...shut it off and the radio won't come up. Shut it down go in the store for breakfast, back in the truck and its all back to normal. Today it decided to stop working and didn't come back through all the stops for the day.
Radio unit itself is functional at all times. It comes on, all buttons work, you can change station, set the clock, it shows the stations as coming in in stereo. But we get no sound out of the speakers.
I did some reading and tried to reset things by pulling the base radio fuse (38 in the block by the passenger's feet) as well as the radio and amp fuses (19 and 29 in the same block). No luck.
We've also got a 2012 550 with the "1 step up radio", the one with the CD player. It does the same thing, but the volume will occasionally come back randomly when going down the road, but if not it comes back on the next vehicle restart.
Its a rather annoying issue and a solution would be appreciated.
