Well, I can't truely say why you would want to. It's a personal choice. It's free. It helps others document that these vehicles are still out there, and helps build a database of truck concentrations, true rarety, available parts vehicles, and VIN tag info which can be used to uncover some anomalies and historically accurate information. I hope that gives you a "why", but I will say that there are those who would like to have repop parts available, and this helps manufactureres know the payoff and potential markets. Thanks.
