Nevada January 2018 BS thread

Hello Nevada FTE!

Welcome to the New Year!!
Hope everyone has started their Christmas shopping already, you don't want to wait until the last minute!!! (I actually saw Valentine's Day items in Walmart two days ago)

Donna has it been 3 years since you had that truck driving job? Man time flies... I think you will be fine with being away for the week and being home on the weekends. Your kids are old enough now to take care of themselves, and being apart is not going to diminish their love for you. And as was stated before, just put it in God's hands. He can handle anything.

Jim

hope everyone had a great new year. Just out of curiosity has anyone in neveada done the hei distributor swap on their ford truck? Just ordered one for mine and planning on doing it sometime next week just wondered how it went for everyone.

Evening everyone.

I did take the points out and installed a petronics unit in mine. I don't care for the HEI but that's just personal preference.

Happy Friday Nevada!

I have not done an ignition conversion in over 30 years, and then it was to add electronic ignition to a Mopar product. (Duster or Dart, I had so many of them I don't remember which one I did the conversion on LOL)

Did this on our 68 Mustang. So nice not having to screw with the points now!

Good morning everybody, thanks for the replies. Well I ordered the hei and it should be here next week, I'm just tired of messing with all the wiring on the dura spark and I've always been a big fan of the gm hei. Hope everyone had an awesome week and hope you have a great weekend, we are supposed to have descent weather so get out and have some fun.

Goodmorning guys,
HAPPY 2018!
Thanks for starting the new thread. I don't know what I'd do without you.

Well, I'm back for the weekend & my 1st week at my Uncles in Calif. sucked. He lives like a vampire. He won't turn the heat on & only uses his woodstove to heat his home- which I stacked a entire cord a black walnut wood by myself, there's no TV/internet & phone service sucks. Almost all of the windows are covered with black sheets &/or moving blankets too. He allows 1 light to be kept on in the house near the front door (all others have to be turned off immediately when leaving a room & he'll only eat TV dinners - yet he cooks roasts, chicken, steaks, stew meat, etc. for his dogs. I understand that he's on a budget, but I can't live like that! I'm going bonkers there. I'm asically just his house & dog sitter when he leaves to go anywhere. Don't get me wrong I love my uncle but, I was hired to be a home health care worker not a house and dog sitter.
I told his social worker Friday morning that although I'm family, I'm there to do a job...keeping the two separate and I take it very seriously. My uncle won't listen and tries to get away with things because I am family but being his medical provider I will not jeopardize my certifications and medical licenses when he refuses Medical Advice/Care from me.
his social worker agrees and understands and told me that she would talk with my uncle as well as her supervisor. She also told me that based on her last visit with my uncle he doesn't need as many hours of care. So instead of 25 - 30 hours a week... it's now 16 -17 hours a week. I don't know what to do now... continue to travel back and forth or have her find a new healthcare provider.
