IMRC Stuck Closed? P2006
So the daughter's 2005 F150 with 4.2L has started acting up; occasionally it stalls at idle in Drive. Starts and runs fine and of course I haven't been able to reproduce this problem for myself.
Anyways, DTC scan shows P2006 "Intake Manf Runner Control Stuck Closed bank1. Been a Ford guy for years now, but always mod V8s in pony cars so I'm new to this 4.2 world. What the heck is an intake manifold runner control? Some searching brought up info relating to the 5.4L (which is news to me!); is it the same on a 4.2L?
This was a low cost truck for her college, so I don't much relish getting to deep into repairs but ya gotta do what ya gotta do I guess. Whats up with these plastic connector bushings, can I inspect without pulling the manifold? Having a hard time finding part numbers for either the bushings or the control ?valve? itself. Even signing into the Chilton's online (through public library subscription) offered zero insight.
