79 f250 Steering Column Help

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum but so far I love all the info on here! I bought a 79 f250 back in january and I started taking the power steering box off. Well I didn't really look up how to do it properly so I ended up undoing the 4 bolts on the box near the rag joint. I saw the shaft coming out of the box while I turned the wheel so I kept doing that thinking that thats how I was going to get it out. I was turning is counterclockwise and started to come up against some resistance. Well I should have stopped there but like a dummy I forced it to turn. Sure enough something popped and the steering wheel is now separated from the signal shroud. Since then i've taken the steering box out the proper way and the steering wheel spins around and around. I took the signal cam out and the spring loaded metal piece for the signal flew off into outer space and I can't find it anywhere. I've been looking up online steering columns and I actually got one from a scrapyard (i think its from a 78) and I've noticed there isn't a separation between the steering wheel and that signal shroud. My steering column is for a 2wd, non tilt, auto trans.

Any help would be appreciated I can take some pictures and post them if there is some confusion. I'm not the best at explaining things I'm learning.

All I have in a 2wd diagram, I believe there are parts available like a new t/s switch should have the spring loaded contact pins that flew out??

I'm not sure what the T/S switch is. Maybe you could point out the number on the diagram you sent me. There are 2 pins that are spring loaded, they make contact with the back of the steering wheel i believe. The only part i have lost is the little metal wedge piece that triggers the signal. It's spring loaded inside the plastic cam housing. The part i am having trouble with is the steering wheel is not able to be pushed in all the way there is a slight separation between the wheel and the signal shroud. I'll take a couple pictures tonight when I get home from work. The one I picked up from the scrap yard is impossible to take apart. I don't see any bolts, screws or clips of any kind to remove the shrouds on it.

I finally got around to taking some pictures I've been preoccupied with other things in the build! And also I forgot to take pictures lol.

Got the steering wheel off.

Metal piece sits in that hole on the signal cam with a spring inside. Would the can repair kit from LMC Truck have that metal piece?

So, the plastic piece on the left (bearing?) is broken, you can kind of see it in the picture. Is that what the popping sound was when I turned the wheel too far? Or did I break the lock in the steering box maybe? Either way it's just one complete shaft so my problems lie close to the steering wheel. The plastic piece on the right has that springloaded pin which slides into a keyway on the backside of the steering wheel. My theory is that if I put the steering box back in the truck my steering shaft will be at the right level So the steering wheel gap will be gone. I don't know though, I don't know that that little bearing thing does maybe someone can help me out?
