1979 Ford F150 Frame VIN

I found a number on the frame of my truck. It is EDD8TAUD H2. Can anyone tell me what this means or how to look it up.

This isn't a VIN, it sounds like an engineering number (D8TA UD).
Is this number stamped on the side of the frame rail, not on top?

Welcoem to FTE, yes I do believe that is not ther VI #. 2 places the VIN is stamped, under the seat/cab floor, on top of the frame rail and in the engine compartment passenger side top of frame rail. 2wd it is fwd of the coil spring bucket, 4wd it is by the exhaust manifold.

If should match the paper title # and the # on the dvrs side edge Warranty plate.
