Front spring shackels
A couple years ago I did the V Modded B spring swap on my Excursion. The rear was quite a bit higher than the front so I added the 3rd leaf from the old rear springs to the new front and that helped but it is still a bit higher in the rear. I regularly tow one of two different trailers 3000 lb and 5000 lb and occasionally a 20" car hauler 6000-8000 lb. The smaller ones barely squat the rear of the truck. I recently added a Plow and would like to raise the front so it is level with the rear. I need to raise the front about 1-1.5 inches. What front shackle do I need? Thanks

TRUE, BUT a 1" LIFT will require a 2" shackle or for a 1 1/2" lift the shackle will need to be 3"

Well the plow is on. It is a older western plow 8" Pro plow? It is pretty heavy. If I had thought about a plow when I did the spring swap I would have got the x codes. actually if I had planed to put the bumpers I have now I would have done the x codes. Hindsight is 20-20. I think by adding that leaf from the rear springs helps a lot. I was not sure what length shackle to look for or from where to shop for them. I thought the shackles might be better than adding a level kit like Sean showed. Im not sure what is better or what any or you guys have used thats why I ask the question here. Thought the shackles would give the axle more travel?

You determine how much lift you want & I told you how long of a shackle that would take. It's like tires divide by 1/2. Just Goggle them.

Sounds to me like you need new leaf springs with a more suitable spring rate that has the ride height you are looking for.
Leaf springs are fairly inexpensive and sound like the best solution to me as it will correct you spring rate, ride height and shouldn't negatively impact your caster angle like longer shackles do.

I hate to have to swap the springs again though I have thought about that. I didnt think that a shackle a little bit bigger would have changed anything that much. I guess I will have to think about this some more.

Personally I try to choose the solution that corrects issues not compounds them.
A spring swap isn't all that much more labor intensive then the shackle swap. It's a Saturday afternoon.

What you gona do Swap them again this summer for the beach trips ??? Your springs will handle the plow just fine. You just want to level your truck, BIG difference.
