Remote start thoughts?

So I need to get a remote start put in on the truck as Wendy will be using the rig the next week or so and I'm able to use this to my advantage to get this installed This is the one I'm looking at since I don't really want another fob hanging around:

I've got a 2-way Viper 1-mile range unit, had it on since I bought the Ex going on 6 years ago. I won't go into the first winter with a car/truck without having a remote start...everything I own has one.

Viper/DEI seems like decent stuff, I have on a car of mine and it works fine. What other accessories are you looking at?

Just this for now. I'll be getting the windows tinted before summer gets here but that might happen next week depending on how life works out.

I meant do you plan on adding a proximity or glass sensors? If your spending on a remote start and alarm might as well make it worth while and at least had the proximity sensor, hood sensor's. I say glass too because of the amount that Excursion's have.

Ahhhhhhh... I would like to yes. Do you have any things you think I should change because of that?

Not change but I would add those to it. Are you installing yourself or having geek squad do it?

See what they say you can do initial install now and ask them about expanding the rest at a later time. I assume the system you chose should work with your power door locks which is nice too.

Seems like it would be cheaper if you just get a new system installed that will replace the current one. This way you don't have multiple fobs.

Seams like it would be cheaper if he has Wendy go start it every morning for him Think that would be Brent's recommendation.

However unlike Brent I don't want to **** Wendy off and end up like him:

Well Best Buy installed the system today. I feel pretty good with it so far, but I won't know for sure until a few days and I give it a good shakedown. I'll post up which unit I went with tomorrow, but I know it was a Compustar unit.
