Energy Suspension Sway Bar End Links Bushings

Started removing the end and sway bar from my 04 Ex. The end link bushings were shot. I could not remove the top bolts that go in to the frame or the bushings from the eyelets so I took them to the shop to have the bolts and the bushings pressed out. My question is, what is the easiest way to get the upper end link bolts to fit through the Energy suspension sleeves with out having to press them in? Keep in mind that the bolts are stepped up in diameter near the head (circled in red on the pic). Also do you re-install the heat shield as I was going to add the washers that came with the bushings.

Thanks

Apply some anti seize to the bushing bore and put it together, loosely, then cinch it together with the nut to seat the bushing.

I don't think there is ever a need to press energy suspension bushings in...on leaf springs I just whacked them in with a hammer. The kit should come with lubricant, they are a tight fit but can be pressed in by hand. I did them on my rear sway bar last year some time. They are two piece bushings. Once you get the kit it may help you visualize the install.

Thanks for the recommendations. I have attached more pictures just to be sure. I wont have time until this weekend to install them and hopefully the new steering stabilizer. In the pictures the bolts with the tapered ends near the bolt head fit through the washers but not the sleeves. If I am understanding correctly just with tightening the nut will allow the bolt to slide in, all while using anti-seize. If I am wrong, let me know.

That's how I did mine when I used the Energy kit here. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...with-pics.html

Again, Thanks for the replies. I'll wait until this weekend to install. I also just picked up a Bilstein steering stabilizer. Hope it gets in on time for the weekend.

Got the sway bar and end-links back on the ex. Corners better and the front seems more firm. The clunk that I would normally get from accelerating from a stop is gone. Have some shocks on order and hoping I get them in time to install during the weekend. Also installed a steering damper while I was at it.
