Lowering a 1950 f-2

I know I haven't posted on here on awhile but my project F-2 is finally starting to take shape (I'll get some pics on here soon) and one thing I was considering doing but I'm still not too sure about it is maybe lowering it by two inches. I'm sure this has probably been done on an F-1 but I can't find hardly anything on an F-2. Right now it's flat black the interior is still a disaster and it's has trailer wheels on it. Does anyone have any advice or pics on a good wheel and tire combo for an 8 lug model? And also possible lowering it?

The best way to lower it would be to send your front axle to Sid at www.droppedaxles.com. I believe that the springs are the same dimensions as an F1, there are just more of them. If they are, you can get reversed-eye main leafs from www.classic-haulers.com. I have an F2 parts truck, and the springs look the same, but there about 2x more on the F2. If all else fails, call Sid or Classic Haulers, they are both TONS of help!

For the F1, they recommend removing every other leaf from the spring packs. I don't see where that would be any different for an F2. Best part is that the only thing it costs is a new center pin and u-bolts after you see if you get the drop you are looking for (use the old ones for mock-up). Should soften up the ride too.

Remember the front axle is the same on the F-1 through F-3.

I think an F-2 would look kind of ridiculous lowered. It is not a small truck. The larger wheel openings would look really weird on a lowered truck...

Wheels

On Craigs list in St Louis, Mo. there is a set of 17" stock wheels from a Dodge with 8 lugs. The price is very good too and almost new wheels. I think they fit but don't know about the offset. They have small round holes in the wheel and are painted silver and are prices with and without centers. Anyone know if they would work on an F-2. I'm keeping my F-3 as stock looking as possible, so I didn't bite. Patrick
That pretty blue truck with the shot springs or is it overloaded. It has pretty paint.
