Need info, Airbag 1-9, Ford's Diagnostic
I have an '05 f150 and the air bag started blinking 1-9 at me randomly one day. Took it in finally and paid for the diagnostics. He said the pretensioner was bad and the clock spring needs to be replaced. Wanted $650 for the job.
Is this an easy job to do? Where is a good place for parts?
It looked like special tools required was only a steering wheel puller which I assume I could borrow from AutoZone or where ever. If there's not a lot to it / little chance of something exploding in my face or springs and parts flying everywhere and I have to take it to dealer anyway I'd prefer to do it myself.
Any thoughts/inputs/how-to's would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

There is a recall on those , as far as I know , no limit on mileage
