03 6.0 any suggestions????

So I bought a 03 6.0 and was told all it needed was an injector. Turned out the injector tip broke off and put a hole in a valve. So I pulled the head replaced the valves and while it was apart cleaned the turbo. I got it running and there were some cylinder contribution codes and I ended up replacing all 8 injectors very expensive even if you do all the work yourself. Now it has a occasional miss at idle and has all 8 cylinder contribution codes but seems to run really good just kinda sluggish at take off sometimes. I also replaced the ipr valve and the icp sensor and connector. After all of this I am pretty broke now any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The ficm has between 47 and 48 volts also.

Could still be FICM related. Check the plugs on the bottom to
make sure that they are making good contact.

The other option ?

Here are the trouble codes. P0263, P0266, P0275, P0278, P0281, P0284 I guess there are only 6 now I had cleared them a few weeks ago and the check engine light has not come on ever most cheap scanners won't even pull the codes.

I had heard on the 03 and early 04 the ficm could cause problems even when the voltage is reading good but I don't know I'm still pretty new to the 6.0

this is True about FICM

But I would have expected different DTC though ( Circuit Low )

all your DTC were contributation DTC

It could be FICM but if I was you I would do some testing to make shure theres not something eles causing the contrib DTC

Hows fuel filters and fuel prss
low fuel press will kill injectors fast

hows HPO System

check FICm Plugs

were all the dtc there before work

X2, I would check the connections first,, then rule out a catastrophic failure by doing a compression test. Kinda concerning that a tip broke off n you didn't touch the lower end. The piston had to be damaged, possibly the cyl wall also.

There was a little bit of damage on the top of the piston. I had a relative compression test done at the dealer and that cylinder was only 6% down. With the damage on the one cylinder it wouldn't explain why all the other cylinder contribution codes.

I am still on the FICM band wagon. Have you checked that yet ?
Here are some very good guides on FICM how to.
Give them a reading if you have not already.

So I checked the ficm tonight. The truck hasn't been started for 2 weeks KOEO was 47.9V then I started it and was 48.0V let it run 5 minutes and checked it was 48.1V I'm still not convinced that it is good. What does anyone think about a hpo leak? I had a diesel tech fom the dealer check it out outside of work a while back he is the one that said to replace IPR valve he said everything showed the hpop was good. Any ideas on how to check for a hpo leak?

WELL if you haven a gauge like scangauge II or Daashboss you could check the HPO system

You would look at ICP--ICPV--IPR% for HPO Concerns

So get ya a Gauge you can see A lot of stuff with the 2 I mention

The truck is finally fixed. It turned out to be the dual mass flywheel was causing the miss believe it or not. I replaced it with a solid flywheel and there is no miss at all it runs great now just got to save up for some head studs so I can actually use my banks six gun tuner.

Really I can see it was it dragging on something??

Im thinking the PCM uses Crank sensor to see contributation but not 100% shure could be from the Cam sensor too

Thanks for the update
