Filler tube question

Should there be a flapper on the fuel fill pipe? I open the fuel door and have an open pipe to the tank. I filled up for the first time and was surprised not to find one.

You find the flapper on gassers and usually to prevent leaded gas going into unleaded vehicles.

The "wide mouth" opening also accepts the HIGH flow pump handles available are select truck stops/service stations.. These things will fill-up your tank in no time..

I've found some stations have a separate diesel pump "island" - and these usually have the high-flow (see the pic I attached).

I have a local Texaco with the high-flow nozzles - no sign other than it's bigger.

And if you don't keep the flow rate on the low notch you'd better have a rain coat on that your willing to throw away.

Yeah, there is a twist-on cap. I didn't describe that very well.

I found that out the first time I filled up at one of those. You can't hardly even top the tank off at one of the high flow places. *dunce cap*

I take it because I did not take a diesel bath at the big rig
pump on high flow. That I have my tank has the harpoon mod
done already?
