I picked the truck up a few months ago but haven't been able to do anything to it due to lack of space. Well now that isn't the issue any more. It now has a place to call home where me and my wife and son and two grandson will piddle with it til we call it done...I forsee this been in a length of years!
I have been gathering a few pieces and am trying to come up with a vision..
So far.. I have TCE coil over IFS and dropped springs in the rear with a disc brake 8.8 to put in. The power will come from a MILDLY cammed and carbed 302 out of a 95 Cobra mated to an AOD..
Thats the plan so far..I want to strip it to the bare frame and do the suspension first and the drive train and brakes..from there we will see.
I'm SURE I wil ask some real stupid questions ...please be kind on your replies!
So here it sits in it's semi permenent home for some MUCH NEEDED TLC and fun times with the boys!
Nice '56. When I was 12 my first job was racking up the returned soda bottles at my uncles grocery store. We loaded them in his '56 long-bed every day and hauled them to the back of the store for the vendors to pick up. What memories of that old 292!
