It's hard to believe but I peeled back a swatch of skin on my first day of shirt sleeve wrenchin of the year.
I was using the right tool, the right way and still notched the side of my hand. - I guess it's good to get the first one out of the way.
Note: This is just about the outside wrenchin' season - I been doin other damage to body parts all winter long down in the basement
I tried to pull a filter out of a housing today by putting my middle finger in it and pulling, I heard an audible click/crunch noise and now the finger doesn't work so well. Guess I'm getting old too.
I take it you are not swimming in the basement then.
If you're referring to the floods, thankfully they are not in our area - Yet

yeah, must be that time of year, so far I busted a knuckle with wrench breaking, and also smashed a pinky toe by dropping a hood on it (weight of hood landed on the hood latch.. on my toe).. good start to the season =)
Last year I bought several pairs of Mechanics Gloves - Fire resistant, Vibration Dampening (Palm side has extra padding) and some Bump Protector (These have rubber lizard lookin ridges on the back side of the hands and fingers) - They worked really well last year - I guess I have to get them out and start using them this year.
