6.0l problem

I've got an '06 Ford f250 king ranch with 154k miles. It has a superchip programmer set to heavy tow,4 inch exhaust no cat and a dyna flow muffler. I've got a couple of problems with. First I was having a code come up reads low turbo boost. What happens is after I excelerate hard and let off and try to excelerate again I have no boost. If I let off the throttle completely for approx 5 seconds and floor it again it boosts fine ( 30 lbs).If I'm passing a car and get on it and let off when I pull back in lane it does the same thing and will not pull boost at all unless I let off the throttle for 5 seconds. It also runs rough when I first start it and has no power until the temp go up.Once it warms up it smooths out but does what I described above. I live in south Florida and the outside temp is in the 90's. I pulled the egr valve and cleaned it( it had quite a bit of carbon on it). I also pulled the sensor and tube under the overflow tank on the drivers side and cleaned the sensor and cleaned out the tube.It still does the same thing.A friend of mine thinks the waste gate is sticking open what do you guys think?

I pulled it. That's the sensor on the tube going to the manifold right? The sensor was clogged,I cleaned it and the tube and put them back on no difference. Not pulling a code all the time just that low turbo boost occasionally.Doesn't smoke either like I've read in other posts with kinda similar prooblems.

Your truck doesn't have a wastegate, but it does have a variable geometry turbo that provides the same function. It is very common for the turbo components to hang up due to carbon/sludge and produce the symptoms you are describing. Any good shop should be able to diagnose it for you, or you can just pull the turbo off and clean it yourself. There are numerous write ups available on the web to show you how to do this.

As for the poor running when cold, this is often caused by a poor pattern from the injectors, among other things. This may be due to bad injectors, a failing FICM, or several other issues. Again, a good shop should be able to figure this out for you.

Check for codes. Check the FICM voltage.
