Hey guys. Well my '53 F250 was just delivered (during an ice storm! ) over the weekend. Please give me your advice on the best place to pick up steel rear fenders and a tailgate for this monster. I am also looking for the best coating recommendations for my frame. Here's a tough one. The farmer that used to own this truck apparently did not like having a wooden bed. He took angle iron and welded a sheet of steel to the bed, and then the side and top panels of the bed ALL THE WAY AROUND!! The good news is the original boards are still underneath and hopefully restorable. Here's the question, How do I get the angle iron off of there without ruining the bed sides? I was planning on grinding off the welds where it meets the sheet of steel covering the bed, but I am not sure how to break the welds on the side panels without chewing them up or warping them. Any help would sure be appreciated. Thanks!
