Hello,
I do my own mechanic work because, well, I'm cheap. I have a '72 F250 with the 390 in it and the stock 2bbl carb. I know nothing about carbs, but could probably figure it out. With remembering I'm cheap, what would be a good fit for a new carb? Also remembering gas is $3.53/gal. Any help would be great.
Without swapping the intake? I go with an Autolite 2100 which is probably what you already have. They're a dime a dozen at swap meets and a rebuild kit is $20. Pick one up and follow the instructions in the rebuild kit after grabbing a gallon of carb cleaner and setting up a clean and organized work area.
