Timing for a 1968 F-250

Trying to get my ignition timed on my f-250 its got a 360 v-8 with a manny 4-speed.

I read somewhere that the timing was 6 degrees BTC but it was off yahoo answers so i just want to make sure that i got the correct timing.

Thanks in advanced,
Corey

6 is probably right, as that's what FE and SBF motors were spec'd to in those days with regular fuel. Try running it up as far as you can without pinging. Maybe up to 10 degrees. As long as it doesn't ping, the extra advance is your friend.

I agree with 85e150six4mtod. That is what I usually set my timing at, 10 degrees as long as the vacuum advance is working correctly.
