High mileage V10

What would be considered the usable life of a V10 before they would be considered worn out?

Hoping 250,000 or more

I don't know. I have about 180,000 on my X and it is still going strong. I would like to see 250,000.

300,000 miles? 400,000 miles? How long you want to keep it?

Got 190,000 on mine and it still runs great and tows great!

I think the V10 will outlast most of the trucks they are put in.

The interior and exterior of most cars today give way before the engines assuming they are taken care of. The engine, tranny, etc is all hidden, does not have to be pretty and can be fixed....

I have 195,000 on mine now and it runs like it only has 20,000 on it. When mine does "stop working".....I'm going to put a new V10 crate engine in it. However, I'm definitly not getting rid of it....it's a collectors car for sure.

I have 235,996 miles on my 2000 Excursion. Just completed New Year's round trip from Houston to Orlando. Goal is 300,000+.

The V10 is a very strong motor. My previous truck was a 2000 F350 V10 that had 160,000 miles on it but, well over 5,000 idle hours on it, figure 30 miles wear equivalent for every hour. So about 150,000 miles of idle wear and tear, plus the 160,000 on the truck is 310,000 miles and pretty poor maintainence. I didn't have The truck long but it would still go sideways if you got on it at 30 mph!

262,000 on mine without any major problems. Needs some suspension updates, but like previous poster said, The truck will give out before the engine and tranny.
