97 F150 Blowing fuse for gauges

My F150 keeps blowing the fuse for the gauges. I think it is f29. I read about others having a problem with the wires coming from the shifter. I took the steering column covers off to check them today and they seem fine. I don't see any chafing of the insulation anywhere. Any other ideas?

the fuse feeds the inst. cluster,auto lamp module,brake warning resistor/diode,and the od cansel switch.unplug the od switch and try a new fuse.eventually you can unplug each component and find the short.

Pull the steering column shrouds and repair the wire harness where it exits the shifter tube. It's rubbed through and is shorting out.

This is the most common reason for a blown F29.

Thanks for the help but I was asking if you knew of another place I could look. As I stated in my first post, I have already checked this wire.

Today I removed the cluster and found a few burnt spots on it. I ordered a used one to replace it. I hope this is the only problem.
