Tricks for replacing Driver side Upstream O2 sensor

Bought a new O2 sensor to replace my failing upstream one on the driver side and I'm running into a problem with trying to figure out the best way to get a wrench on it. Any thoughts? Right now my best guess is to get an extension bar + flex end into the O2 socket driver from underneath the truck.

Truck is a 1999 F-150 4.6L W Extended Cab 4x4

Thoughts?

Before yesterday I would have said take it to a shop, but I am in the process of removing my engine and the first things I have done is remove the fender liners. After I removed the drivers side the O2 sensor is in plain easy to reach view. The liners come out with 4 or 5 8mm bolts and a few pins, it is super easy to remove an will give you easy access to the O2 sensor.

I'll let you know for sure tomorrow, but, I just changed the exhaust manifold on my '99, and had to pull the plastic inner fender out to do it. Only took 10 min., with the wheel/tire out of the way. While I had that liner out, it seems like the 0 2 sensor was right there.

Okay, so the inner liner is that easy to remove. I started to look at it and was not sure. That will make it easier, but I know it is still tight between the sensor and the cab of the truck, especially once the socket is on their. Does everyone else just take theirs to the dealer to get changed? Anyone done this themselves?

Just wanted to post an update. Replaced the O2 sensor yesterday. I did not remove the inner liner since the cab does get in the way of the socket wrench. So, what I found worked was a 7/8 hand wrench get underneath the truck and come up between the bell housing and the exhaust.
I started using the O2 socket with the flex connector and a very long extension bar which got the sensor started lose. Once I did that, I took the wrench and was able to unscrew it the rest of the way. Tight fit, but it worked. Needed lots of heat. Had to heat the sensor threads till they were red hot for it to start turning. Thanks for the info.
