if you enjoy a rough ride, then sure. that things gonna shake any fillings outta your teeth for sure. its cheap enough to get a airbag kit man, adjustable, soft ride and you can get em to carry 3800 lbs a piece for a standard double bellow bag. if you go sleeve and can make the room for a bigger bag, you can go 18,000 lbs each and never have to worry about it.

air ride shocks are alright if you just carry light loads. they arent ment for taking much weight, more for a little bump from a light cargo load or extra passengers in a car.

AirBagIt.com - Air Suspension Kits, Mini-Truck Parts, Sport Compact Parts! Airride, Airsprings, Towing Kits, Lambo Vertical Doors, Airbags. you can get airbags cheap there, all you need is some air line connecting the two together and a t for a schraeder valve in it so you can fill it up with a tire filler tip at any gas station or your own home. for a couple hundred bucks you an add your own onboard air system. right now, they are offering buy 2 get 2 free so you can go halves with someone else.

why not just go with some overloads and standard shocks?
how often and how much do you haul?

for under 100 you can buy a set of overloads (salvage yard) and new u-bolts/center bolts.

what kind of bed did you go with?

the 1 ton trucks came with overloads stock didn't they.... im kinda counting on it we are supposed to be picking up a 1 ton truck with a 351 this winter and im getting the engine frame transfer case bed and fenders from it and hopefully the overload springs if it comes with them..... i ended up picking up 2 gabriel ultra shocks which are slightly better than stock right?

ya, f350 has overloads. only thing is you need the bump stops for them as well. ive got a set of 4 here for you if you want them. just pay for shipping. i took them off my truck when i moved my axle back. im not getting rid of the springs though, they are going on my dads truck. for 70 bucks you can just get a set of add a leaf springs and use those. only thing is you still need the 1" block that goes on top of the leaf pack that the overload goes on. its got an extra long centering pin so it goes though the leaf and though the u bolt bracket. also, its got drop sides to prevent the spring from spinning.

he can rob the whole works from the f350 he's getting though.
the block/perches and leafs.
he'll just need new center and U-bolts,and of course some grade 8's to bolt the perches on.
what do they call them hardened bolts made for those.pretty much grade 8 but a bit different.
that's what they gave me at the hd truck shop anyway.though im sure grade 8's are fine.
like an extra hardened bolt or something.they're black.forget what he called them now.good bolts to use for that sort of thing.
