Ok so I have a turboed 351W in my 83 van. I bought it several years ago not running. it appears that the computer that controled the fuel injection kit had crapped out.

So I pulled the fuel injection kit and threw a carb on there and it fired right up. running N/A at the moment cuas the turbo plenum wouldent fit on the carb.

Ok so my problem is that after a few miles of driving, and the engine gets warmed up the rpms get real irratic, and it has little to no go, and I can bairly get it home... could this be beacuse I am running N/A? I never messed with the engine timing,

I have been told that the intake manifold on it may have been designed for fuel injection and that could be my problem... But just the other day Someone sugested that it might be easier to try to get the fuel injection up and running again than setting up for a blow through carb.

WHat would be the best way to get the turbo up and running into the engine again???

 

What's wrong with buying a new computer for the fuel injection system and putting it back together the way you bought it?

 

the company that made that computer and kit has long since gone out of buisness...
Can I just use a different computer and wiering harness to the 4 injectors I have???
