Unhappy 460 swap problems

Ok... First topic here so bear with me. I'm fifteen, I've got limited money, and I've got a 71 F100 4WD that I'm trying to get a 460 in. I've see it done so I know its not impossible. I bought all the mounting brackets and I have everything I need except the "clamshell" part. I've looked in salvage yards, online, LMC, etc. It's getting ridiculous, to say the least. So does anyone know where I can find them? I'd be happy just to get dimensions so I can have some made.

This should give you what you need to drop a 460 into a F100 4wd that originally had a 360-390 in it.

L&L Products

Actually, it's the part that bolts to the block, witch the part you just showed bolts to. But then again I'm going off of other peoples info. I saw a picture of them if I could just find it....

This is the best pic I could find.
May be a salvage yard item.

That's just a motor mount.
Why would you want to use an old one?

....or do you mean the adapter that goes on first:

You might try Bill (Numberdummy) on here. He could tell you if there are any nos Ford ones left over.

The bosses on the block aren't any different. What's to keep you from using a later style motor mount?
If it's an engine swap that was never available from the factory then it is certainly not a matter of being concours correct.

RJP66F100,
Can you offer 'restomodifer' the dimensions he needs to fabricate something that will work?

There are no factory 4WD engine supports (towers, stands, perches) that can be used on any 1982 or earlier F100/350 4WD w/a 460.

The first year the 460 was available with 4WD (and a manual trans) was in 1983-F350 only.

No 460's were offered for F100/150's after 1979.

To install a 460 in a 4WD will require purchasing a mount kit from L&L or Summit. The 1973/79 F100/350 2WD factory 460 engine mounts (2-D3TZ6038A) and brackets (D3TZ6030A & D3TZ6031A) can be used, but there are no factory engine supports for 460 4WD's.

The D3TZ6030A-right/D3TZ6031A-left brackets bolt to the engine block, the rubber insulators (D3TZ6038A) bolt to these then to the supports.

You will also need the correct oil pump and screen, a reverse sump pan, and the adapter to bolt the pickup tube to the engine.

Econoline & Passenger Car 460 mounting parts will not work on any F100/350.

Bill, that was error on my part, I assumed that he was going to fab 2wd stands or supports into the 4wd truck and for all I know that may not be practical.

But anyway you have listed what I think he was after to complete his parts collection.

YES! Thank you, everyone seems to look at me cross-eyed when I try to explain. And the reason I don't go with a newer-style mount is that the brackets I bought won't work any other way.
