I'd like to do another 56 with a fairly modern drive train that would be dependable, crank windows and no A/C just the stock heater, would only be used in the months the others would be packed away..

Wonder if you could put it on a modern frame from something, that way you'd have the entire driveline.

I'd look into that or maybe taking cross members from a donor and mounting them on the original frame, because it will be sitting higher I wouldn't be as concerned about track width as much.. There is that 67-72 4x4 north of me I might check out, I could use the frame frame it maybe ...

The one thing about those, the trans cross member can't be cut out, since it supports the trailing arms for the front axle.

I've got to look at some different suspensions to see what will work best but I'm not ready to start crawling under anything just yet...lol

Maybe 3 weeks on the truck and a month on the bikes since i fired them up..

Hello Steve, should yourself some battery tenders. I picked some up and Walmart pretty cheap and they work good..
