Good morning Nova Scotia, John, Morris, Brian, Rob and wandering visitors..

it is raining here with a significant amount of accumulation. The ditch in front of the house is about full and small ponds forming in the yard..

Morning Steve, I have 2 vehicles that won't start and have the charger on the car right now. Once I get it started I'll park it in out of the cold and put the charger on the truck. I need to start buying my batteries some place else, every year for the last 4 years I've had to replace the battery in the truck and I have a trickle charger on the truck. As soon as this cold weather strikes the batteries are shot..

I think I have on the truck Brian and why I installed a trickle charger, the battery in the car is 7 years old and just can't take the cold I think

Like Brian asked .. is there a parasite in the truck running the battery down. Even a cheap battery ought to last a few years..

The garage here in town said it was fine but after talking with the dealership in the way they do the test there likely is but it was the dealership that suggested that I just put a trickle charger on it for $50 rather than pay 1-2 hours labor at $100 so that's what I did but it don't seem to be working..

Maybe you might need a bit more than a trickle charger.. Maybe one of the new solid state chargers on 2amps might do better..

Biggest problem is I don't drive the truck enough, I had it out at the beginning of the week and it started as soon as I turned the key but the last 2 nights it's been below -30 degrees and I think the brand of battery just can't take the cold..

It didn't, I'm pretty sure the battery froze last night so will have to wait until I can get a battery on Monday
