Question FE Aluminum Heads - Torque Specs?

Hey guys, anyone know what to torque my BBM heads to? Edelbrock calls for 110ft lbs for upper longer bolts and 100ft lbs for lower shorter bolts for their heads. Why would they be different from top to bottom? Iron calls for 80-90ft lbs even.

My first guess would be that longer bolts stretch more, so you need to put more torque into them to get the same pressure against the head gasket.

Hmm...using a torque spec should give you stretch per length though, not an overall stretch. I.e. if you were measuring them, the longer bolts will have simply stretched more when the wrench clickes @ 100 ft lbs ...

My guess is that it has to do with how much aluminum is between the bolt head and the block.
