is it possible to machine a 351m flywheel for internal balance to work on a 460?
I'm trying to figure out my 460 swap, and most people use the 390 flywheel. However, what i'm finding is that the 390 flywheels are 184 tooth and tend to eat starters....where the old 351m flywheel was 176 tooth. Since I'll be using an np435 trans off the old 351m, i'll be using the 351m starter that goes with it.
I have found that the 429 engines had a 176 tooth flywheel, but they and the clutches are big bucks, and this is a low doller build.
I'd like to use the clutch and flywheel from my 351m, but being an externally balanced flywheel, it won't work.
Can i take the flywheel in to a machine shop and have them balance it for an interally balanced setup?
Any easier ideas to my situation here?? Thanks all
