i took a 93 cab and put it on a 92 and the horn didnt work. i had this problem last time and i got a wiring diagram and changed a wire and the horn worked. does anyone have access to a wiring diagram of the 93 150 cab? then i need one of the 92 f250 with a manual
thanks bill, but do you have one that shows the color after the horn switch listed above? i dont see anything but db? i have a solid blue and a blue and white and i think those have something to do with it
The 93 is grounded at G200 over a black wire with a white stripe after it goes through the speed control amp in at pin #6 DG/O wire and out on pin #10 red/light blue stripe wire (same as the PSOM ground).
1993 wiring:
ok, for some reason i remember applying power to the blue wire and grounding the blue and white. does this make sense?
No it does not. Are we talking about the 1992 or the 1993 trucks wiring.
Also do they both have speed control?
The big difference for the horn circuit between 1992 and 1993 is the speed control. The 1992 uses vacuum and the 1993 is all electric.
The ground wiring for the horn button goes through the speed control module and if you are using 1993 wiring the horn will not work without the speed control module.
If you are not using the 1993 speed control module and are using the 1993 wiring you must jumper the 6-10 pins on the speed control module plug to get the horn to work.
