1967 250 camper special fan shroud

I've done some searches at previous posts and just want to be sure I'm going to get the right thing. My radiator measures around 25" high and I suspect that makes it the "super cooling" radiator? I could not find any numbers on the radiator and there is no fan shroud currently.

I looked at LMC and they do not show a fan shroud available for the 67 trucks, they have 68-72. They also show different radiators for AC and non AC trucks.

I want to get a fan shroud that will fit this truck and I will want to add AC later down the road, might be a year or 2. What are the differences in the fan shrouds?

Thanks,
Wade

edit: I am not sure if I measured correctly, I measured again and from the bottom of the bottom tank to the top of the top tank I got 25 3/8" high, the core height in between the tanks is 19 1/4" high. The width is 26 1/2". I also measured the fan and it is 9 1/4 radius, so 18 1/2" diameter. How much clearance should there be between the fan and the shroud?

I also wonder if this is the correct radiator for this truck?

I'm not positive on this, but I don't think the 67's came with a shroud...
Bill! Where are you?

I think you are corect that it never came with a shroud, Darrell, as I remember that the side of the radiator itself has holes in the flange for the shroud to fasten to. And another thing is that the fan is an aftermarket fan with aluminum blades. It probably wouldn't fit a shroud. The original fans were blck painted steel. Best thing would be to buy a new radiator and a shroud together matched for AC and an AT if it has one from a 68-72.

This must be the factory radiator and it has no holes for the fan shroud, if I added a shroud I would need to drill holes for it. I would prefer to add a shroud to this and keep the cost down. And yes it does have AT.

I wonder if I can just go to the junk yard and start measuring all sorts of shrouds until I find one that would work? maybe next spring put out the money for a new radiator, shroud and fan.

If you find something that works, post it into this thread. I would like to add a shroud to mine, since it tends to heat up when I'm moving around my trailer...

wade67,
You said the truck does have an automatic transmission, but I see no transmission cooler lines to the radiator. I think this is not the original radiator. Is there a separate cooler for the transmission?

You're right! I went out and looked again, no tranny lines! I took some piccs of the tranny and posted them here:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...ny-cooler.html

I guess those trannys did not have a cooler.

thanks,
Wade

I haven't been able to locate one for my 67f250 CS either. I spoke to Blue Oval Truck Parts and they said that the shroud for my "Desert Cooler" radiator (same dimentions as your's except i have tran cool lines) is not being reproduced. i'm trying not to be skeptical, but i'm gonna keep looking on web, everything is still too muddy to go through the part yards.

There was no fan shroud available originally for 1967 F100/350's without the Super Cooling (S/C) Radiator.

The only 1967 F100/350's that had a shroud were 240/300 I-6's with dealer installed A/C & 1967 F100/350's with the S/C radiator.

Pics of radiator in post #2: This is not a S/C radiator. The S/C radiator is taller (24 1/8" vs non S/C: 19 1/4"), the top tank is much deeper & wider, the core is thicker. The width is the same (26 1/4") for both.

1968/72 F100/350 360/390: Two shrouds were available. One for Standard; Xtra cooling; A/C radiators. One for the S/C radiator.

Since the S/C radiator is higher, the radiator support is different-has a larger opening radius. You cannot use one radiator and/or shroud in place of the other.

D3TZ8146C (replaced C8TZ8146K) .. Fan Shroud / Ford just obsoleted this shroud 3 weeks ago.

Marked on the upper left (drivers) side corner: C8TA-8146-S or D3TA-8146-DA / Original applications: 1968/76 F100/350 360/390 without S/C radiator.

This shroud can also be used on 1965/66 F100/250 2WD's; 1966 F100 4WD's; 1967 F100/350's without the S/C radiator.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C7TZ8146B .. S/C Radiator Fan Shroud / Marked on the upper left (drivers) side corner: C7TA-8146-H or D2TA-8146-HA or D3TA-8146-JA / Obsolete.

Original applications: 1967 F100/350 352 with S/C radiator / 1968/76 F100/350 360/390 with S/C radiator.

See post #12 for sources that still have a few of these two shrouds NOS.
