I'm about to order the 6637 filter, will the filter hook on to the stock intake hose if i remove the filter box? i have no problem what so ever doing custom work, just wondering if anybody knows what i should order for tubing and elbows and was size tubing it should be. There must be a write up on it somewhere on here but i'm having trouble finding it. i'd just like to get the required stuff coming so i can hook it up as soon as it get here!
I used a piece of 4" exhaust and a clamp on mine. As long as you don't have an early 99 this method will work. Some folks have used pvc couplers from hardware stores also. Or, you can get the kit mentioned above. All a matter of preference, time, access to the material that you will need. One thing that I will recommend is a cover for the filter. You can get one from one of our fellow members (Pete), or a vendor that handles them, but I don't have the link handy. They really do help.

I recommend against using PVC, at least long term. I had a 3" ID (4" OD) PVC coupler in place of my CCV for a couple months and it started getting soft and started to collapse. It also is much smaller than a piece of 4" OD exhaust inside, so it's a bit of a bottleneck compared with the rest of the intake.
I have an '02 f250 and got everything I needed from Clay at Riffraff down to the filter cover. No add'l items needed at all, just removed my stock air cleaner box and put it in. I also done the CCV kit and foil delete all at the same time since I was already taking the intake hoses off and had things out of the way..........

I figured it was gonna do this, thanks for the confirmation. I mounted my 6637 tonight with a 3" PVC coupler from Home Depot because nobody in my town carries 4" pipe, anywhere...
Question on this same topic, I ordered mine the other day and installed it as soon as I got it. The schematic or pictures leave somethin to be desired for sure, but I dont have a problem figuring things out and making modifications the directions dont mention. But even so, after sawing off the mounting tabs from the back side of the battery box, the filter is still a tight fit (all the way around including the hood). And so I got to thinkin with all the claims of the 6637 flowing gobs more air than the stock box and flat filter, how can this be possible with the 6637 up against the battery box on the front, the hood practically smooshing the top and only a small area open to the bottom, leaving the backside the only side giving adequate air supply, just wondering
very interesting, i ordered the bigger air filter for more cfm's. 850 cfm's as compared to 650 cfms..i wonder if the hood is going to squish down and the fit be even tighter because of its size. it must fit though..hmmm, does anybody else have the bigger air filter? it was only 66 more dollars so i had to order it..when it comes to power i want a bigger bang for my buck. especially with my budget. even a mile per gallon would be a nice difference while cruising. just liike i'd drive across the street to save .10 per gallon of diesel. for sureee i love my diesel.
