Hiding Albums

Hiding Albums
I have 2 albums in my gallery that contain avatars and I would like to hide them.
I check the hide album box and click on update. After a short time I am sent to a blank page. There is no option available on that page except home or to close or page back.
No matter what I do the albums remain visible and if I go back to manage your gallery and select the albums the hide album box no longer has a check in it.
What Am I Doing Wrong?
