yeah. the county is switching over to the leds as well as the state police here. they find that they are not noticed as easily either since they have a lower profile.
theyre too bright imo sometimes... 2nd to last time i was pulled over the cop sat just right behind me and nearly blinded me with the friggin things... before he left i asked him if there was a way he could just turn off the front ones cuz they were getting me in the eyes from reflecting off the mirrors... and he did... if they tell you they cant turn off the zones theyre lieing.. cuz ive seen them do it often on the sides of the road... theyll have the back ones on and the front ones off... and they did it for me...

I know on fire equipment they use primary and secondary systems. most police departments train to actually aim the spotlight at the side veiw mirror on the drivers side and use the take down lights for the rear view mirror and the other mirror so they can have a safety advantage at night.
