That is something special right there. Not sure he brings it together perfectly, and I definitely don't like the puffy dash pad, but that woodwork is incredible. You could charge 1000 bucks to do something like that for somebody who really wanted it, maybe more. I'm impressed that he made it all work physically, original knos used right where they usually are.
And I thought my new interior was pretty snazzy, I was all hepped up to finally get a dome light cover from the junkyard tomorrow, womp womp womp..... haha
I have seen woodgrain interiors made before. I think this set is right on the money. Do you make that piece for the handle pull out of one solid piece of wood?

I took a Wood Shop class in High School this very year (1978) this was before
computerized lathes (CNC machines) were generally available. I imagine making it from
one piece could be done but it'd be tedious and error-prone.
It's hard to determine in this pic:
I added green lines where it looks like there could be joints of multiple pieces, the white
lines are where it's even harder to tell.
The armrest looks like a different piece, but below that where you drew your white lines looks solid to me. Unless he was a pro at matching the woodgrain on both pieces. That would be a real pain as it looks seamless.
Edit: looking at the knots, you can see a little bit where it goes up and around the bottom of that one bottom "Seam", where the whitle line on the bottom is. I'd say it's one piece.
I'd agree with your green lines Ctu. I do alot of woodworking, and it would be my instinct if I was doing this, and also looks to be the case here, that the part behind the chrome handle, and even more likely the armrest part, are seperate pieces from the big piece.
I do think however that the area that you have boxed in completely is part of the main chunk. The grain all matches up, and that lower knot looks to continue into the long base section also.
I wonder how old this interior is? (How well it's held up against that desert sun and heat, and the dryness)
That is beautiful!! Wonder if anyone can contact that guy and find out more about it, like where he got it? Or if it came with the truck when he got it?
Looks to me like one part of the main instrument cover is raised up and warped bad. about center above where the shift **** would be with a 4 speed. Is it just me seeing this. Still Damn fine work.

Yeah, I saw that too... Looks to me maybe like he attached the wood to the top of the stock trim frame(hord to tell in the lighting of those pics), and its not screwed in, or the weight of the wood is pulling it out... Possibly.
