Looking for a scan

Hey Iowa Chapter, I have a 2001 F250 7.3L. It's a daily driver and seldom used to pull anything. Earlier this week I pulled out from work and it shifted high hard, with the OD light blinking on the shifter. After reading all the possibilities it's obvious I need a scan. I checked with the dealer and they want major $$ to just do a scan for codes. I was wonder if anyone is near Iowa City/Cedar Rapids that wouldn't mind running scan for codes. I've fallen on some tough times and don't have an extra $140 to pay the dealer. Thanks in advance for the help.

Try your local Advanced Autoparts for a quick scan they let you use the tool for free.
I used it on My wife's Nissan. going to buy one for myelf as a Christmas Present from Santa with the OBD1 Reader Cable for my 93 F150

We do them at Autozone too, but anything to do with the diesel motor may not come up in it. I can try my scanner (have to remember to put it back in the vehicle...) but I can't guarantee any better results... I can certainly try though. I work both Saturday and Sunday at the 16th ave Autozone in Cedar Rapids. or maybe we can meet up sometime in the evening during the week since I am in Iowa City every day during the week for classes. A close friend of mine also has either a Snappy or Mac scanner, I would think it would do the trick... I have run across times when our reader doesn't cut it for reading diesel codes at work. Haven't had an opportunity to hook mine up to see if it will do better. Not sure if our new reader at work will do better than the old ones... They have to be CAN compliant, and the old one wasn't. Mine is supposed to be.
