I assumed on the other thread that you meant the drum retainers.

I am assuming you are asking about the tapered retainers under the hub nuts to center the axle hub on the studs?

I have used a section of 3/4" schedule 40 pipe slid over the stud and a sharp rap with a 3# engineers to jostle them loose. It sounds like corrosion has seized them. Spray them with a good penetrating oil like Kroil or Gibbs and let the fluid work. After a bit use a propane torch and apply some heat to the studs to help brake them loose.

If you are bending and breaking things you may already have damaged the axle flange.
