Best weight distribution/sway control setup?

Hey guys,
Just wanted to get some feedback on what you have found to be the best weight distribution/ sway control setup to tow with?

I see Equalizer, E trailer, and few others. Not really concerned with pricing so to speak. Just want to know i get one that is easy to install ( no drilling) and works perfectly. Do it right the first time and be done with it.

So any opinions are appreciated. And any good places to get them at too.

TIA
Tony

Sorry Tony, don't have an answer for you but out of curiosity what are you towing?

I have an open 18 foot trailer....no issues. And towed 20ft, even 24ft enclosed,
But i just acquired a 28ft Haulmark enclosed trailer with full interior, cabinets, a/c, extra 2 foot height, generator, etc etc. Its a heavy big beast.

Just towing it from where i bought it down the highway 15 miles was a nervous adventure. Just yanking my truck all over the place. I know i needed a weight distribution hitch once i got it due to size and weight, but never knew it be needing it that bad. My truck being lifted probably isn't helping either i assume.

So the Equalizer unit seems to be the best all in one and easy hookup i see. But its not cheap. So before i spend the money, just wanted some real world feedback of what works good.

The best on the market is the Pro-Pride 3P hitch. Next Generation Trailer Hitch Sway Elimination | Truck and Trailer Hitch Accessories | ProPride, Inc.

You should also look at the Hensley Arrow Trailer Sway Elimination Guaranteed - Hensley® the ONLY trailer hitch guaranteed to totally eliminate trailer sway. and the PullRite has a SAFER, STRONGER, BETTER designed hitch for you

You said you wanted the best, and these are. There are some that are cheaper, but not this good.

If I would do it again this is what I would get. Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control - Trunnion Bar - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW Reese Weight Distribution RP66084

The reese daul cam set up. I think the best money can buy IMO

I use a Dual Cam, which I think is a favorite, however, if you want the best control, hitches like the Hensley, the Pro Pride, or the Pull Rite fall into the best category, IMO. They are much more expensive, take more effort to install, and possibly to hitch, but they essentially offer the same towing experience as with a fifth wheel.

i have heard really good things about the propride and the pullrite. they are expensive but really work....if money was not a factor i would like to try the pullrite. it is basically a reverse fifth wheel.

i have equalizer and am very happy with it. i do have a dually tho so im not sure how much stability comes from the equalizer or having duals?

Equalizer is the only way to go. Little more expensive but well worth it!

I always like the Pullrite hitch because I could get in tight places easier with it.I have one I thought about putting on this truck but I really don't tow that much anymore

We tow a 8000# 30' TT,we use an Eaz-Lift weight distribution hitch,1000#/10000#, we also use an Eaz-Lift friction sway control, the sway control is pretty simple but we don't get sway. I think the WD we got was in the mid $200.s, it's a very stable set up.

Right now I pull a 31 ft. Prowler with gvwr of 8800 lbs. On this trailer I have a Hensley and I am an absolute fan. Before I had the Hensley I had the Reese dual cam and that too was a very good system but then the biggest trailer was only 25 ft and gvwr of 7200. Before getting the Hensley I considered the Pullrite but rejected that because at that time I would have had to alter my exhaust and spare tire location to mount it. But I do understand that they are a great system too. I have family members who towed for years with the Reese dual and sway brake combo and they had no complaints. I believe the advise the members here have given is wonderfully fair and gives you good points to start your own investigation of what might meet you needs. BTW it is the first time I have heard of the Propride and looking over the site it seems it may be a Hensley creation. Found that interesting. Good luck on your hunting!
