What was the two colors on the wire that shorted? I don't see anything on etc other than engine temperature control. Here is a list of common acronyms:

Electronic Temperature Control huh? hmmm. I wonder if I ruined that somehow and how to test it. Does anybody know if it would fry my new pcm to put it in when that is burnt out?
There were 2 black wires (one with a thicker whiteish stripe, and one with a thinner whiteish stripe), and one yellow wire. The yellow wire was untouched so I didn't splice any new wire into that one. There is a pic earlier on in the thread. They were the TPS wires or so I've heard.

Ok thanks bud. Ya I sent him a message but it looks like he only has 16 posts total. I dont know if it was just because the post that I was looking at was old and had his old stats on there or what. But I dont know if he will be getting on any time soon to see the message I left.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Right on. Thanks for the offer. I will let you know. I think I am pretty set on being able to put it in. I already tore my old one out so its just the reverse I am sure. That and making sure my negatives are disconnected and my keys are out of the ignition right? You have any info on this ETC?

Power
Having no power while swapping the components is definitely the plan.
Not sure on the other sensor, but if the PCM swap doesn't get you firing, can always do some parts swaps to figure out what is going on.
One thing I would do while waiting for the new PCM is get under there and really look over all of the wiring, make sure all the shorts are cleaned up, etc, verify, double check. PCM's arent cheap .........

Due Diligence
Bryce,
You have more energy than any 10 average people, I am sure you can do a thorough verification, especially since the truck is down with nothing to do right now!
I have 3 similar trucks at my disposal, late 99 350, and 2 2001 250's, if it gets nuts, we can dig in and get it figured out, we are only 2.5 hours east of you, thats nothing in MT terms, I drove farther to shoot my elk and bear 2 weekends in a row.........
