As far as eating tires, two years on 31" Swamper LTB's and 8 years on 38" Boggers without any visable extra wear on either set. In fact I sold my LTB's and you couldn't tell which ones were fronts and which were rears.

I know my friend sold his to buy 36's and got really good money for them.

That's just two guys' actual experience, some may differ.

Remembering back, I pretty much had to convince the guy who did my spool that I was taking the truck off the road and wouldn't drive it on the street before he agreed to do it due to all the supposed issues it could have.

Let me tell ya, we has an awful (read: AWESOME) winter that year and I was never happier than driving to work in 2wd with a rear locker.

Under normal driving in snow, it just wanted to go straight. It cornered fine too and if you needed to over steer, just blip the throttle and the back end came around... Very predictable. I would have no qualms about my wife driving it in snow either. It was that stable.
